LIGHTNING MOTORCYCLE SETS RECORD AT RECENT PIKE SPEAK INTERNATIONAL HILL CLIMB

At the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb near Colorado Springs, Colorado an all electric motorcycle, the Lighting Super Bike, driven by Carlin Dunne of Santa Barbara, CA beat all the fastest gas powered motorcycles up Pikes Peak by 21 seconds!
Not only did Carlin Dunne beat all 82 motorcycles entrants up Pikes Peak but but he beat all but 8 of the fastest cars up Pikes Peak as well.
Dunne record setting time was 10 minutes, 000.694 seconds.
The Pikes Peak Course covers 12.42 miles with 156 turns to the 14,110 ft peak...
This monumental achievement was made possible by the vision of Richard Hatfield, founder and CEO of Lighting Motorcycles of San Carlos, CA Lightning Motorcycles builds the fastest production motorcycle in the world and has won many road racing competitions and has set many world speed records.
It's a good year for Lightning Motorcycles: first the 2013 PPIHC, and on September 4th 2013, setting a new land speed record at the speed trials in Bonneville, Utah. The new record now sits just above the 203 mph (326.6 km/h) mark.
